Across Morwell in 2025 engagement remained steady, supported by strong relationships across both school sites. Changes to early learning services led to a clearer focus on fewer, high-impact activities. Parents and carers being on site for kindergarten and school activities created valuable opportunities for informal conversations with Our Place staff, helping raise concerns early and connect families to support. Strong collaboration between partners supported better continuity of learning and smoother transitions from kindergarten to school, helping children start school ready to learn and families feeling supported.

- Improved screening and referrals: A coordinated screening and referral process at Morwell Park ensured 85% of children flagged were supported into NDIS planning or paediatric allied health interventions, supported by strong collaboration between Our Place and the LCHS preschool nurse.
- Scaling best practice: Talk Boost training is in the process of being expanded to all Latrobe Council-operated feeder kindergartens, building consistency in oral language practices across the region.
- Improving access to health care: A new GP clinic at Morwell Park Primary supported children from the kindergarten and school to access timely medical care.
- Strengthening family engagement: Wellness Wednesday sessions and an ADHD professional learning workshop strengthened relationships between parents and partner organisations.
- Tracking early development: The Early Language and Literacy Development Index (ELLDI) is now used across the site, enabling consistent tracking of children’s development as they move between settings.
- Health and early development: Building on strong uptake in 2025, Morwell will continue the dedicated nurse coordinator at Goodstart ELC into its second year and trial an MCH Care Coordination role to improve early identification and coordinated support for families experiencing vulnerability.
- Increasing KAS participation: A consistent, site-wide approach will engage all 3.5-year-olds in Key Ages and Stages (KAS) assessments, strengthening early identification and supporting families to act on recommendations.
- Playgroup alignment: Shared planning across all playgroups will strengthen alignment of goals and delivery, with a coordinated focus on oral language development, parent capacity building and clear warm referral pathways.
- Continuity of learning: Shared pedagogies, joint planning and aligned oral language practices will continue to strengthen transitions from kindergarten to school, with this approach extended to additional feeder kindergartens.
- Parent engagement and connection: Co-designed activities will continue to build parent confidence, strengthen home learning environments and support parents to take on meaningful volunteer roles across the site.
