Our Place 2026 Strategic Priorities
Our 2025 priorities remain valid for the year ahead. In 2026, our actions will sharpen, test and evolve our approach, responding to what we’ve learned, what our communities and partners need, and what the future demands of us.
- Embed the practices of a learning organisation to achieve impact for children and families
- Increase our use of data, evidence and assumption testing in decision-making and planning in all teams.
- Release a new publication on continuity of learning in the home learning environment to build the evidence base and share lessons across the sector.
- Regular sense-making sessions with peers and partners to understand impact and opportunities to embed lessons across our work.
- Build shared professional development opportunities across our sites and partners, leading to meaningful outcomes and changes.
- Build the quality and depth of evidence of impact of the Our Place Approach
- Focus on demonstrating and communicating impact in ways that are fit-for-purpose for funders, policymakers and our community partners.
- The 2026 Evaluation Report will include a focus on evaluating the reach and dosage of the Our Place Approach and its cost effectiveness.
- Continue to privilege the voice of community in evidence gathering and sense-making.
- Deepen evaluation capability across the organisation.
- Advance a clear and compelling pathway beyond 2029, supported by organisation-wide advocacy
- Improve the clarity and consistency of our messaging, incorporating voices of community and local partners.
- Host a parliamentary event to highlight the importance of integrated early learning, school and family services as critical long-term reform.
- Test and refine scenarios for our sites and backbone organisation beyond 2029.
- Identify opportunities to support adoption of the Our Place Approach and full-service school models in more communities.
Our Strategy

The Enablers of our Strategy
1. Long-term government partnership
Provides infrastructure and governance to support our approach along with a platform to test and advocate for changes within the system.
2. Committed philanthropic partners
Provides long-term funding and enables collaboration with like-minded philanthropy organisations to pursue genuine system change.
3. Distinctive organisational capability
Develop internal capability to execute our strategy and leverage the capability of others to work differently for the benefit of children and families.
4. Responsible stewardship and operation
Maximises the benefit of the financial and in-kind contributions of our partners, whilst mitigating the risks that may prevent us creating sustained positive change.
